"Venom" is a 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
The movie was directed by Ruben Fleischer and stars Tom Hardy in the title role, along with Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, and Jenny Slate in supporting roles.
The plot of the movie follows Eddie Brock, a down-on-his-luck investigative journalist, who becomes infected with an alien symbiote that gives him superhuman abilities.
As Eddie struggles to control the powerful and unpredictable symbiote, he must also confront a sinister organization led by businessman Carlton Drake, who seeks to exploit the alien life-form for his own purposes.
"Venom" received mixed reviews from critics but was a commercial success, grossing over $850 million worldwide. A sequel, titled "Venom: Let There Be Carnage," is scheduled to be released in September 2021.
